Isaiah’s Hub Career Readiness Program provides young people with a structured pathway to develop the skills, mindset, and experience needed to succeed in the workforce and beyond. Designed as one of our premier programs, this initiative focuses on long-term development, not quick outcomes. Participants are equipped with real responsibilities, leadership opportunities, and hands-on experiences that prepare them to thrive in real-world environments. Through this journey, youth don’t just learn how to work—they learn how to think, lead, and perform with excellence.
Program Overview
Our Career Readiness Program hires 40 to 50 youth each summer, creating a dynamic environment where participants gain direct work experience while developing critical life and professional skills. Beginning as early as age 14, youth are introduced to foundational responsibilities such as maintenance and support roles. As they grow—especially by age 16—they are elevated into leadership positions, serving as staff and supervisors for younger youth ages 6 to 8.
What makes this program unique is our commitment to long-term development. We intentionally rehire participants year after year, understanding that true growth takes time. Rather than expecting perfection, we create a structured environment where mistakes are embraced as part of the learning process. At Isaiah’s Hub, we are the training ground for tomorrow’s future—where youth are supported, corrected, and developed over time.
With an 80–85% job retention rate after completing the program, we’ve seen firsthand the impact of investing deeply in our youth. We believe that after approximately three years of consistent development, participants are fully prepared to enter the workforce and contribute meaningfully to society. By building strong foundations, we are strengthening our entire community.

Program Opportunities
Participants in the Career Readiness Program are given real responsibilities within Isaiah’s Hub, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, growth-focused environment. Youth engage in daily operations, leadership roles, mentorship opportunities, and structured team-based work that mirrors real job expectations.
Additional opportunities include resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, college application and financial aid guidance, and career exploration experiences such as job shadowing. These experiences help participants build a strong foundation for both employment and higher education pathways.
This approach ensures that youth are not only gaining experience, but are being developed into confident, capable individuals who are ready to succeed in whatever path they choose.
Connection Opportunities
Youth at Isaiah’s Hub are connected with meaningful opportunities that extend beyond our walls through strong partnerships with local organizations and businesses. Based on their interests, goals, and readiness, participants are introduced to real-world pathways that lead to employment and career development.
Through partnerships with organizations such as Target, The Workshop, Save Our Youth, Michigan Works, Job Supply, RJ’s Metropolitan Ice Cream, Grove Jackson, and more, we actively bridge the gap between skill-building and job placement. These connections allow youth to step into environments where they can apply what they’ve learned, gain experience, and begin building their professional future.
This approach ensures that young people are not only developing skills within Isaiah’s Hub, but are also being positioned for real opportunities in the community—creating a direct pipeline from growth to employment while surrounding them with support systems that believe in their success.
